Interview

“I felt the desire to do something for people with disabilities like myself. I had learned how to help and share opportunities while at DDD.”

Thongchanh Inthachak

Thongchanh Inthachak was one of the first trainees to join Digital Divide Data in Laos. He had just graduated from a vocational school for people with disabilities and was looking for a place to practice his skills. His acquisition of computer skills at DDD became a turning point in his career. After working in IT for a variety of firms, he established the Disability Mainstreaming Advisory Service Center (DMAS Center). "I had learned how to help and share opportunities while at DDD," he says, “and this experience became the foundation for establishing the DMAS Center.” DDD gave him management training in Phnom Penh, and he applies those skills daily at DMAS Center.

What impressed him most about working at DDD was the diverse experience of people from various places, which helped him answer questions about adaptation and workplace culture when starting in new environments. His advice for DDD's future: Bring in international instructors with specialized knowledge, especially in AI.
